William Bell attains Affiliate Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers

EPCA director William Bell has attained Affiliate Membership of the Institution of Fire Safety Engineers (IFE).  The move follows continued growth in EPCA’s fire risk assessment services, led by William.

The IFE is a professional body with 11,000 members in Fire and Rescue Services and the wider fire sector. The IFE’s influence is international, with 41 branches worldwide supporting the protection of life and buildings from fire. Licensed by the Engineering Council, the IFE upholds professional standards by offering assessment of knowledge and experience and engages with stakeholders to identify and promote good practice and enhance technical knowledge worldwide.  In addition, the IFE offers registration of Fire Risk Assessors and Fire Risk Auditors, as well as providing financial support for fire research and educational projects.

CDM-C for Air Conditioning Replacement Works at the Crowne Plaza London Docklands

 

Crowne Plaza London Docklands is a contemporary 4 star hotel offering luxury accommodation in London’s thriving Docklands area. The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from the ExCel Exhibition Centre and close to Canary Wharf, London City Airport and the O2. The hotel and has 9 modern purpose built meeting rooms, 210 contemporary en suite bedrooms and leisure facilities including a pool, modern gym and spa.

The hotel is only a few miles from Olympic Park, and in preparation for the London Olympics 2012 the hotel has received an overhaul of the bedroom air conditioning system.

epc associates provided full CDM Co-ordination services.

The project included replacement of bedroom a/c condenser units, controls, condenser pipework runs within ceiling voids and up to roof mounted VRV outdoor units. The work had to be undertaken on a carefully phased basis to maximise room availability through the contract period, and to ensure the new system was up and running well ahead of London Olympics opening ceremony on 27 July 2012.

CDM Co-ordination for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service at Possil Park Transport Depot, Glasgow

epc associates provided CDM Co– ordination for the demolition of the existing office block at the SNBTS transport depot at Possil Park  in Glasgow.  The project included replacement of the old office block with a new office, in addition to various repair works to the transport depot itself.
